New Products

Introducing the new book by Michelle Shefveland, Scrapbooking the Digital Way, published by Jasc Software. Here is what one of our customers had to say upon receiving her copy on Monday:

"I just opened my package with 'Scrapbooking the Digital Way.'  I am just blown away by this book! I had to email and tell you how thrilled I am.  I work in IT and have dozens of technical books, so I know what I look for in a good book to teach me how-to's.  This one is fantastic!   I took a chance and ordered a book sight unseen and got way beyond what I was expecting.  Wow, what a surprise!

"Thank you Michelle Shefveland and JASC for an incredible how-to book.  This is one that will keep you up until the wee hours trying just one more thing."

Coming in June
Simply Kids and Simply Stated CDs

In June we'll be releasing two more CDs that have been in the works for quite a while.  Simply Stated was a dream of Thena and Michelle's last summer when they first met.  It features Michelle's art and sentiments, as well as Thena's thought provoking, insightful, and witty poetry Michelle turned into word art.  This CD will hopefully appeal to traditional and digital scrappers alike!  Simply Kids is another CD we've been working on for a long time, focusing mostly on baby moments, but with templates, papers, and embellishments that work well even for teens!  Look for them  on our website....we hope to offer sneak peeks as soon as we can.

CottageArts.net Site Happenings

Basic Photo Editing Tutorials - we will be adding a series of beginner photo-editing tutorials by Roseanne, Karla, and Michelle on our site within the next week, which will help those starting out with their digital camera and digital darkroom techniques.  Feel free to e-mail us, as you've already been doing, to let us know how else we can assist you!

Sneak Peeks of our new CDs coming soon!

Thena's Thoughts

"Things We Love" by our Design Team
Note: each design team member uses an image editor of choice with our products to create their custom layouts.  See our product overview for software compatibility.

Empty Classroom
The classroom is empty
All the students have left today
School is out for the summer
And they have all gone home to play.

The board once filled with lessons
And the chairs that held boys and girls
Are empty now and look lonesome
Not part of summer worlds.

The teacher's desk looks so big
Standing so tall and aloof
Quietness overwhelms the room
Where sometimes rowdiness raised the roof.

Look around and enjoy the feeling
Of emptiness and silence that is fleeting
For soon again the classroom will be filled
Up to the maximum seating!

Michelle's Embellishments

Enjoy a masculine layout for a change of pace!  Michelle created both a flat 12" x 12" template and Page Pak for you to download this month.  All graphics are offered at 200 dpi.  Michelle's new book mentions the fact that 180-200 dpi provides high quality printing results on a home ink jet printer.  Our CDs are offered at 300 dpi, however, you can feel comfortable downsizing them, if needed for performance reasons.  See our tutorials page for more information on re-sizing our images.
