Sliding Into ACTION!

One of the hottest trends today?  Slide mounts and filmstrips.

Slide mounts are offered in many colors, styles and sizes.  These simple little objects have empty frames just waiting to be filled with your photos and embellishments.  CottageArts.net offers many slide mounts ready for use in just about any theme or color you can imagine, but did you know you can change the size or color of these slide mounts using your image editing software?  Or, if you are a traditional scrapper, printing these in your desired size and color and cutting them out is a breeze.

There are so many ways to use slide mounts and filmstrips.  They are, of course, wonderful for small photos, but can be used for so much more!  Here are just a few of the fun looks they can create...

-Tiny photo frames.  Sports scenes lend themselves nicely to this approach, since photos are usually taken at a distance and contain smaller images.

-Titles.  Slide holders are a fun way to jazz up a title by using them to frame individual letters.

-Tags.  A slide holder makes a great frame for a shaker on a tag or simply wrapping the mount with fibers gives a coordinated look.

-Chains.  They look great chained together with wire or ribbon strung through eyelets.

-Shadow boxes.  By using either "Pop Dots" or drop shadows, you will give your slide mounts depth.

Next time you need a "framed" accent, consider using a slide mount and remember any of these ideas can be used either digitally, traditionally, or both!  Go wild!
