Whether you find
the thought distressing or compelling, the everyday events we enjoy
today quickly become memories of our past and a part of our history.
Much like storytelling, the documenting of these important
activities helps to create a legacy to be carried on to future
generations.
Preserving these
memories need not become a daunting project, if you take a few
moments here and there to describe the bits and pieces of your
everyday life. The Memory Lane Page Pak makes it easy, by including
titles that can be used as "story starters". Add the title and write
about stories or emotions they evoke in you. If you plan to make the
journaling the focus of your layout (pictures aren't always needed),
it may be a good idea to jot your thoughts in a notebook or in your
word processor before
starting the layout. This rough draft isn't the time to be concerned
with spelling, grammar, or how the words flow, but rather helps to
get your thoughts down on paper. Later, when you add the text into
your layout you can work out the flow and design, playing
with different fonts that fit the mood.
Take some time to find the digital content that gives the right look to
your emotions and message. Enjoy the process, and be sure to archive
your layout so that it stands the test of time.
This issue offers some great ways to preserve the
past. Some of the best memories are made during during vacations
and times of play. Take a look at the Building Blocks section for
layouts that show old-fashioned innocent days on layouts of today.
In the Digital Tips section, you can find ways to bring an aged look
to your layouts.
