Ideas of How to Make a Mix-Match Title
from AlphaSets
What's a Mix-Match Title?
A Mix-Match Title is one that is made from several AlphaSets put together. They are quite easy to make and give such a professional and fun look to your layout and projects. To create a Mix-Match title, first you have to think of the title you want to create. Something with few words works best. For my example I will be creating a title to say "Celebrating Dad" Choose 3-4 AlphaSets that you plan to use. Be sure to choose different types of AlphaSets.
Types of AlphaSet
AlphaSets come in a wide variety of types and shapes.
Some are squares/rectangles, circular, tags, objects with letters or the
letters portrayed in a creative way such as a charm or stencil. You can
view the AlphaSets that are available in the Building Blocks Section of
this newsletter or check the
AlphaSets page of the site.
Spell out your title using AlphaSets. For a more formal and clean look you can line up one type or mix several. For a more fun and carefree look, try overlapping some letters and rotating them slightly. If it seems there are too many "objects" in your title, you can try writing one word of the title in a complementary font and another word as a Mix-Match title. Play with different types of AlphaSets and see what creative and different titles you can conjure up! See the samples below that illustrate these ideas for effective Mix-Match titles.
Helpful Hint: When creating a title with many letters, each letter become its own layer and the number of layers can add up quickly! Sometimes it is easier to create the title in a separate fil, manipulate it there, merge the layers together, then drag it into your layout as one layer. When it is a single layer, it is easier to re-size to fit your layout properly, as well, instead of adjusting each letter individually.
