Counting Down to Christmas Calendar (above) by Beth Ervin was created using the Christmas Joy Page Pak download. Instructions shown at right.
Christmas Countdown

This fun and festive wall or door hanging using the CottageArts Christmas Joy Page Pak can be made in less than one hour! Your children are sure to squeal with delight each day during the Christmas countdown, as the candy dwindles and the big day grows closer. The great part is you can make as many as you want, so make one for each child! It would also make a thoughtful gift for a teacher or neighbor.

The supplies needed to hand craft this special 12x12 calendar are:

CottageArts Christmas Joy Page Pak download
Cardstock - white, red and green
12 white round metal tags with strings
12” ribbon
12 candy pieces or candy canes
Glue dots
Circle punches (optional)
Sewing machine (optional)
Wide format printer (if you do not have a wide format printer, this can be made at 8x8 by just reducing the sizes of the pockets)

1. Print a 12x12 sheet of the Sing Song paper on white. Adhere this piece to both the red and green cardstocks with glue.

2. Print one sheet of 8x8 of each other the other patterned papers in the Page Pak on white cardstock and also one sheet of each patterned round disk in the elements section of the Page Pak at mini wallet size.

3. Cut 6 pieces of red cardstock into 2 1/2” squares and 6 pieces of green cardstock the same size.

4. Cut the patterned papers (3 squares of each) into 2 1/4” squares and adhere to red and green cardstock squares with glue. Punch three of each round disk out with a 1” circle punch and adhere to the top of each square. If you do not have a circle punch, simply cut each circle out with a scissor.

5. OPTIONAL - using white thread and sewing machine, stitch around three sides of each square.

6. Notch the tops of the squares by using a circle punch and punching half a circle out of the top. Bend each of the squares in the center (not creasing) to allow candy to fit underneath.

7. Adhere all the squares using glue dots or Zots to the 12x12 pieces of cardstock by placing four in each row and intermixing all the round disk patterns.

8. Print all twelve of the numbers from the numbers section of the page pak, punch each out with a 1 1/4" circle punch, and adhere to white metal circle tags with strings.

9. Tie one of each of the tags around the candies and place them in the pockets.

10. Punch two holes in the 12x12 pieces (one at each end), run the 12” ribbon through, and tie knots.
