Lots of inspiration and goodies for you today!
To me, recipe books are a perfect fit for digital scrapbooking, as you can create them once and print as many copies as you need! We’re hoping to have a regular feature on the blog sharing our team’s favorite recipes in digital layouts. Our site’s gallery has a recipe category for you to be able to copy the recipes in text form, if desired, as well as get layout details. See end of post for some deliciously tasty inspiration by the team.
Two years ago, the St. Cloud Times featured my maternal grandma’s recipes and a photo book my mom (happy birthday!) and I created. Each sibling submitted a family photo, image of their favorite food from Grandma, the recipe, and stories of special significance to them about their favorite food. I then created a two page spread for each of the 12 families, one side being the recipe and images, the other side being the stories behind the food and recipe. Grandma had died 10 years prior from a battle with cancer, giving the book extra meaning. I recommend this project to everyone!
You can print custom photo books at Shutterfly, once you have the book complete and then share the link with family and friends to order their own copy.
My album used the Butterfly Wings 2 Page Pak and Butterfly Wings 2 Album Pak
Our Life’s Journey or Triumph Album Paks (in 8.5×11 or 12×12) would be perfect for Recipe Albums/Photo Books, as they have 26 generic pages of templates to choose from. Trish’s Granola Bar page (below freebie) uses one of the 8.5×11 templates from Life’s Journey.
To give you a jump-start, I’ve made a recipe card with and without a lifted drop shadow. Click on image below to download the freebie (available through Monday, March 16th, 2009 Download Expired). Enjoy! Michelle
