Grunge Printing Tip

How to get the grunge look with the Simply Digital product line for card making and paper crafting

Using digital products, such as our Simply Digital product line, is extremely economical for card makers and paper artists, as you can re-use all of our realistic embellishments and artistic papers over and over.  Projects will have a dimensional look, but will be flat so they can be mailed in a standard envelope or easily framed. You just need to be able to cut with a scissors and adhere!

This tip is fairly obvious, but thought we'd share it anyway. To print a grungier patterned paper for card making, as well as use less ink, simply choose your printer's draft mode setting.  Print on bulk cardstock from an office supply store and rough the edges with sand paper or walnut ink/stamping ink. Some of our paper designs already have a grunge edge, but you might not need the full size, so adding your own grunge, once cut to the final size, is a good idea. For scrapbooking, you will most likely care more about archival characteristics and should choose photo paper made for your printer model.

Enjoy!  Michelle Shefveland
